With unemployment at its lowest rate since 1969, employers are looking at total compensation as a recruitment and retention tool for the coming forecast. From innovative benefits to gig workers, getting compensation correct has never been more important.

This session will explore some ways that compensation philosophy has changed and provide new ideas on how to get the most out of your payroll dollars.

Janie Warner is a native Arkansan, having grown up in Blytheville, Arkansas. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Evangel University (Springfield, Missouri) and a Masters degree in Human Resources Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Janie has worked in the field of Human Resources for more than 20 years as a generalist, director, vice president and Chief Administrative Officer. She has served on the adjunct faculty of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Little Rock Air Base campus) teaching HR Management, Organizational Development and Labor Relations. She is currently an HR Consultant and Advisor for the McGriff Insurance Services in Little Rock.

Janie is a nationally recognized speaker presenting to various industry groups in the areas of Volunteer Board Governance, Executive Management and Human Resources. She is a former board member of HRMA.


AUDIENCE: HR Assistants, small business managers or those practitioners desiring review of fundamental administrative HR Functions.
TOPICS: Topics are preset and cover fundamental skills and knowledge required to legally and accurately perform subject matter.
FORMAT: The presenters are practitioners/specialists in each topic who review a structured outline and case studies while encouraging class interaction.

9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon - Third Thursdays of March, April, May, June September & October

  • HRMA Members: $125 for the entire series, or $65 per module.
  • Non-members: $200 for the entire series, or $75 per module.
  • Substitutes who are HRMA members - no charge.
  • Non-HRMA member substitutes for HRMA member registrants - $25 per session

Each module is pre-certified for 3 hours (18 hours total) of General Recertification Credit toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.  The use of this seal is not an endorsement by the HR Certification Institute of the quality of the program. It means that this program has met the HR Certification Institute’s criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.
